You may not think of the bagpipes as a subtle nor a supple instrument, but this album may persuade you otherwise. With a Glenuig MacDonald on pipes accompanied by a Blazin’ Fiddler, plus Phil Cunningham and a few other numinous buddies, this album is superb. Iain MacDonald and Iain MacFarlane bounce and slide their way through an excellent selection of tune sets, including a fair few brilliant but not so well-known pieces, some old, some new, some by the MacDonald family. Acoustic, gentle, stunning.
