Chris Norman Ensemble - In The Fields In Frost And Snow [CD]

Alasdair Fraser’s Skyedance band (who played some of the music for Titanic) features stunning flute playing from Chris Norman. The previous album from the Chris Norman Ensemble: The Caledonian Flute combined old Scots tunes with a slightly groovy double bass line, guitar and percussion…all very stylishly. On this new CD Chris has given the same treatment to an eclectic mix of tunes, and even some songs with guests Suzie LeBlanc and David McGuinness providing the vocals. The festive theme extends as far as variations on Good King Wenceslas, but mainly concentrates on tunes with wintery titles such as the Snowflake Hornpipe, The Snow On The Hills and As I Went Out Upon The Ice. Another superb album, beautifully recorded and presented.
