Dr Faustus

Dr Faustus brings together four of England’s most accomplished musicians and singers in a band which truly flies the flag for English music. Former Young Folk Award winner Tim van Eyken (Waterson:Carthy), English concertina supremo Robert Harbron (English Acoustic Collective), rhythm-monster Benji Kirkpatrick (Oysterband Bigsession) and musician extraordinaire Paul Sartin (Bellowhead) are a force to be reckoned with as both instrumentalists and vocalists. With a wealth of live experience and a new CD on Fellside Records, this is a band who must be regarded as one of England’s strongest hopes for years to come.

First performing together in 1998, the group’s rise to prominence has not been overnight – but instead the result of years of work developing repertoire, style and performance skills, and building a small army of devoted followers along the way. As well as performing at concerts and festivals across the length and breadth of England, Dr Faustus has been involved in many community music projects with the prestigious charity Live Music Now. With the release of the CDs ‘The First Cut’ and now 'WAGER' the band have condensed years of work together into two truly entertaining, exciting, English albums.
