Here we have a wholly fresh sound: the lightness of jigs and slip jigs (The Tailor, Robin Shure in Hairst) : the mouth music of Comin Thro The Rye and Duncan Gray (extended to African vocal noises in the latter): the jazzy walking bass settings for Charlie Is My Darling and Rattlin Roarin Willie: the delicacy of It Was A' For Our Rightfu King (with the clock-like dulcimer accompaniment ticking throughout) : the rhythmical textures of Hughie Graham or Wha Will Buy My Troggan.
