Dance instructions for  BELLSTANE             Reel                 8 x 32 

Dance devised by Heather Knox to commemorate the 10^th Anniversary of Queensferry Scottish Country Dance Club.

1 - 8             1^st & 3^rd couples dance a ¼ Petronella, set, then dance a half reel of four, passing right shoulders to begin, finishing in a straight line facing partners.

9 - 10           1^st & 3^rd couples change places with partners giving right hands - 1^st man and 3^rd lady finish facing out to own sides.           

11-16           1^st lady and 3^rd man change places, giving left hands, and retain hold.

                   1^st lady, 3^rd man and 2^nd couple dance left hands across, releasing hands in time for 2^nd couple to dance out to places, and for 1^st lady and 3^rd man to end facing partners again in a line of four. MEANWHILE

                   1^st man and 3^rd lady set, then dance clockwise round the outside of the wheel to change places.

17-24           1^st & 3^rd couples dance a ¼ Petronella back to original places, set, then 1^st couple cast off one place, 2^nd couple step up. First couple finish the cast by dancing in ready to turn partner by left hand, to end with first lady ready to dance reel across with 2^nd couple and 1^st man with 3^rd couple - left shoulder pass to begin.

25-32           Reels across. 1^st couple end in second place on own sides, ready to start again. At the end of the reels second time through, 1st couple dance to end of set, while 4^th couple dance up to 3^rd position.
