Prussian Blue is a new collection of songs written between 1992 and 1995 in Berlin where Dave Robb was doing doing research for a Ph.D. in German political song-theatre. There he re-established contact with local musicians he had met in the early 1980's in the former East Germany. These he brought together with musicians from Scotland and Ireland, and the result was Prussian Blue. The instrumentation features bouzouki, dobro, flute and fiddle underpinned by a rhythm section of bass and drums. Many of the songs are the subjective impressions of life in reunited Berlin, dealing in particular with the themes of change and insecurity. The songs also touch on the issue of ethnic war.

1. Between Worlds 2. Mecklenburg (The Swamp) 3.Sandy 4. Shortcut to Paradise 5. In the City 6. Broocki on the Baltic 7. Fallen 8. Speak to me 9. Twilight 10. Whisper in Your Ear  11. Feinslieb, du Lachst Dazu 12. Stumbling Through

'Highly original.............The pictures he paints with his own words are powerful and universal' (The Scotsman)

'Mixing traditional and contemporary idioms with a fresh enthusiastic approach make "Between Worlds" and "Mecklenburg" two of the most essential tracks this year........Probably the most welcome musical treat in ages "Prussian Blue" is contemporary Scottish Music at it's ellubient best.' (John O'Regan, RTE, 1996)

"A dynamic sense of rhythm and an engaging lyrical slant allied to his razor sharp singing make 'Prussian Blue' a delight. Throughout lies a uniform excellence and a genuinely exciting aura. Contemporary Scottish music at it's ebullient best."
