HEATHER INNES
BEFORE even
going ‘on the road’ as a folk singer, travel was the norm for
Heather. She was born in Africa of Scottish and Yorkshire
parents and has lived in Scotland, Australia, England and
Ireland. Early in her singing career Heather decided to sing
songs from her travels resulting in an eclectic concert set.
In a
concert Heather takes you through the gamut of emotions, from
powerful ballad to gentle lullaby, with a timely sense of humour
in between!
Heather’s
forte is unaccompanied singing and she sings with great feeling
and delicacy in her fine clear voice. Her singing is often
described as very peaceful and calming to listen to and her solo
concerts are sheer relaxation after a hard day at the office!
Heather has
sung at many folk clubs, festivals and concerts in Scotland,
Ireland, England, Wales, Germany, Denmark, the USA and Canada,
solo and with various musicians. She is also a regular visitor
to the recording studio with a number of solo albums and
combination albums with other singers under her belt.
Heather is
available for folk clubs, festivals, concerts, ceilidhs and
weddings as a solo-unaccompanied singer or with backing
musicians on accordion, keyboard and guitar. She also gives duo
performances with Perthshire poet and author Margaret Gillies-Brown.
